À propos de l'événement
The common denominator is, of course, Louis XIV, without whom the French culture of the time could not have flourished: all the composers on the program, like Jean Daret himself, had some kind of relationship with him and his court.
Other aspects of the program are Flemish and Italian influences, religious motifs and the locality of Aix-en-Provence. Thus, the program brings together various motets for soprano in Latin, framed by instrumental pieces (Pièces en trio, Sonnerie de Sainte Geneviève, Human Voices) by the legendary gambist and composer Marin Marais.
