À propos de l'événement
The common denominator is of course Louis XIV, without whom French culture of the time could not have flourished: all the composers in the program had, like Jean Daret himself, some sort of relationship with him and his court.
Other aspects of the program are Flemish and Italian influences, religious motifs and local affiliation to Aix-en-Provence. Thus, the program brings together different motets for soprano in Latin, framed by instrumental pieces (Pièces en trio, Sonnerie de Sainte Geneviève, Les voix humaine) by the legendary gambist and composer Marin Marais.
